PLATEAU STATE: The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, Nigerian Army, and Commander, ‘Operation Safe Haven,’ Maj-Gen. E.F. Oyinlola, has paid a maiden visit to the Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, in an effort to further cement the existing synergy between the Military and the Police in the state.

The GOC, who identified the Nigeria Police as a “strategic partner” in the security space, disclosed this on Wednesday at the Plateau State Police Command Jos.
He said, he was at the Command to formally introduce himself to the CP and further strengthen the relationship that exists between the two agencies.
According to him, when security agencies have a robust relationship network, they easily conquer criminals and share the glory together.
Maj-Gen. Oyinlola stressed the need to shove away inter-agency rivalry and work together as one to defeat criminals and maximize peace and security in the State.
He appealed for continuous preaching of peace to the locals just, and assured of his commitment to operate an open door policy.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbmiga Adesina, expressed gratitude to the GOC for finding it necessary to visit the Police State Headquarters upon assumption of office.
According to him, the inter-agency rivalry is unhealthy for security agencies, as they both have one common enemy – the criminals – who are enemies of the State.
He equally commended the brilliant deployment by the Military whenever there is crisis in any Local Government Area, which contributed to peace and stability in the State.
Speaking on the current security situation in the State, the CP stated that Plateau has started ‘gaining shape’ in terms of peace and security; and he believes that, with the coming of the GOC, all issues will be tackled effectively to ensure peace in the State.
