JOS: Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has described as a “commendable development” the efforts of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, in securing approval for the construction of a dam in Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In a message of appreciation, the governor said that the project, when completed, will go a long way in addressing the perennial water scarcity challenges faced by communities in the area.
He stated that the dam will not only provide access to potable water but will also improve sanitation and hygiene, expand irrigation opportunities, boost agricultural productivity, and enhance the overall quality of life of the people.
The governor described the intervention as a clear demonstration of Prof. Yilwatda’s commitment to addressing the plight of rural communities and improving the socio-economic well-being of the people. He noted that the initiative reflects responsive leadership.
Governor Mutfwang commended Prof. Yilwatda for taking practical steps to improve living standards in underserved communities. He emphasized that such interventions complement the efforts of the Plateau State Government in delivering sustainable development and promoting inclusive growth across the state.
The governor reiterated that the Plateau State Government remains committed to supporting and collaborating with the Federal Government, development partners, philanthropic individuals, private sector actors, and political leaders, who facilitate meaningful development projects, for the benefit of the people.
He further assured Prof. Yilwatda of his prayers, solidarity, and unwavering support in his national assignment as APC National Chairman, expressing confidence in his capacity to provide purposeful leadership and attract greater opportunities and federal presence to Plateau State and the country at large.
On behalf of the Government and the peace-loving people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang expressed profound appreciation to Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda for this laudable achievement and significant contribution to the development of Kanke Local Government Area and Plateau State as a whole.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant Prof. Yilwatda good health, wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as he continues to serve the nation and humanity.
