The Plateau State Deputy Governor, Mrs Josephine Piyo, has paid a visit to the family of Thomas Fwinbe, who was killed along Tuduwa Ring Road in Jos, to commiserate with them over the loss of their son.
Thomas’ mother described the death of the young man (who was lynched by a mob at the Domkat Bali Road in Jos on Monday) as “painful” and regretted that life was snuffed out of him in an inhumane and ungodly manner.
The deputy governor, who prayed God to grant him eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, called on security agencies to swing into action immediately and bring perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
She called on citizens of the state to be their brothers’ keepers, as the state is known for peaceful coexistence and communal living by all.
Mr Simon Gofwan, who spoke on behalf of the family, thanked the deputy governor and government of the state for identifying with them in their moment of grief. He called on the government to ensure that the killers of their son are arrested and made to face the consequences of their actions.
