…in the quest to promote healthy business atmosphere.
by Christiana Gokyo, Jos
An appeal has been made to citizens of Plateau State to collaborate with the government in fostering a healthy working environment for businesses to thrive.
The State Governor, Barr Caleb Mutwang, made the appeal alongside his wife, Barr Helen Mutfwang, while addressing worshippers at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Headquarters, Jos, on Sunday.
He expressed profound gratitude to Plateau citizens for their timely intervention and high sense of responsibility in rescuing some of the victims of the recent school building collapse in Jos.
He described as both “unfortunate and avoidable” the collapse of the two-storey building of Saint Academy Jos, which resulted in the tragic loss of students and staff lives during examinations.
He assured that his administration is committed to making life more comfortable for all Plateau citizens, and emphasized that the government aims to create a conducive atmosphere for everyone rather than witch-hunt or cause dissatisfaction.
The governor further highlighted the streamlined process for the registration and administration of lands and properties, urging citizens to take advantage of this by updating their building plans and obtaining building permits from the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) to contribute to a more organized state.
He called on Christians, as the light of the world, to lead by example in obeying and supporting government policies to build a healthy state.
The governor equally announced the creation of Neighborhood Markets to provide petty traders with secure spaces for their legitimate transactions.
While emphasizing government’s efforts to strengthen security in the state, Governor Mutfwang noted that his administration has made substantial investments to protect the lives and property of citizens.
The sermon, titled, “Desire Righteously” and, based on (the book of) Ezekiel 18:5-9, was delivered by COCIN Vice President, Rev. Dr. Timothy Nwan. The Service was attended by the COCIN President along with numerous worshippers.
