Apparently owing to increase in the current hardship in the state, phone snatchers and other social crimes have escalated and intensified within Kaduna State metropolis.
The recent crimes report obtained from Kaduna Police/Journalist Social Chat Forum stated that the number of phone snatching have skyrocketed within the metropolis.
Confirming the report, Kaduna Police Command spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, stated that, “A lot of raiding have been conducted in various parts of the State Command, and so many suspects were arrested and have been charged to court. Very soon, we are coming out with their report,” it added.
“The criminals’ modus operandi is to forcefully collect the phone by stabbing the victims with a knife or dagger,” the reports stated.
According to the report, an army lieutenant was stabbed with a knife at Angwar Sarki just a few days ago, which led to his death, warning for Kaduna residents of the trends.
“Last month, a DSS Officer was stabbed with a knife and is still recuperating in the hospital. Two months ago, a female Corp member was stabbed to death, and another victim was stabbed in Rigasa.
“An Immigration Officer narrowly escaped in the hands of these criminals. These are just few among many incidents known.
“The criminals operate between 7 to 11 pm and also around 4 to 7 am, depending on the area. They use motorcycles and, sometimes on foot, and are in a group of between 3 and 6. This is for general awareness and safety,” the report noted.
