While reiterated his administration’s commitment to transformative governance, the governor pledged to foster unity, create an enabling environment for economic participation, and improve living standards across the state.

The governor was speaking on Sunday during a Thanksgiving Service organized by member representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency of Plateau State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Daniel Asama Ago, at ECWA Gospel 1, Federal Secretariat, Jos.

Governor Mutfwang also emphasized the imperative of greater collaboration among citizens to cultivate a lasting atmosphere of peace and unity, which is essential for the state’s prosperity.

He encouraged Plateau residents to adopt a lifestyle of gratitude to attract divine favor, and stressed the need to align with God’s principles for a fulfilling expression of thanksgiving.

According to him, “We are committed to identifying and empowering the youth, who represent the future of Plateau State. Through proper training and support, we aim to nurture a capable generation of leaders.

While commending Hon. Daniel Asama and Sen. Pam Dachungyang on their election, Mutfwang noted that their victory was based on a platform that transcended political affiliations, termed the “Plateau People’s Party.”

The governor further expressed gratitude to the electorate for their discernment in choosing capable representatives, and urged elected officials to serve with integrity and selflessness by prioritizing the welfare of their constituencies and the state.

Also speaking earlier, former Governor Simon Lalong congratulated the celebrant (Hon. Asama), describing him as a young person with passion and commitment for service, having known him for many years since his days as Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, where he worked with him as confidential secretary.

He urged Hon. Asama to use every opportunity he has to make a mark not only within his constituency, but in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.

The governor warned against “politics of bitterness and division,” which is gradually gaining ground in the State and pitching brothers against one another.

According to him, the level of political bitterness, particularly pushed by supporters of various political parties’ interests is worrisome and needs to be checked.

“Governance is about the people, and so there should be healthy competition that encourages people to work for the interest of the citizens and deliver dividends of democracy,” he stated.

Also, former Governor of Plateau State, Chief Joshua Chibi Dariye, congratulated the celebrant and urged him to always keep in touch with the people on whose behalf he is functioning in Abuja.

Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajjudeen Abbas (represented by Hon. Ishaya Lalu) also congratulated the lawmaker and described him as a very resourceful legislator, who has contributed to the business of law making at the Green Chambers since he came into office.

While delivering his sermon, the ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Ayuba Asheshe, read from 1 Samuel 1 where he noted that, “Leadership is ordained by God as an act of service and not personal aggrandizement.”

The celebrant, Hon. Asama, said he owes all to God and various people who have assisted him in various ways and mentored him in politics over the years, and thanked God for the opportunity given him to serve.

He stressed, thus: “I was a nobody from somebody,” and appreciated especially his constituents for reposing their confidence in him, and assured that he will not let them down, but serve to the best of his ability.

Similarly, the Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District, Sen. Pam Mwadkwon Dachungyang, congratulated the member for his decision to obey the Biblical principles of Thanksgiving as it is a sure way to heavenly outpouring of divine blessings, favour, joy and double portion of God’s faithfulness.
