…As PLASIEC announces election preparedness.

A candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) contesting for Councillorship in Vanderpuye of Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State, Hon. Okoro Uzoma Anthony, says the candidates of PDP are gentle men, people of integrity with good character.
He urged people to have confidence in PDP, because every candidate in Jos North and in the 17 Local Government Areas has been screened by PLASIEC, DSS and every relevant body.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in Jos, while rounding up his campaign at Vanderpuye ward, he reaffirmed his commitment towards making Vanderpuye a “New Vanderpuye.”
He assured that a New Vanderpuye will be free of crimes that will joke with security situation and, most especially, youths and women empowerment.
According to him, the challenges and issues the business people are facing – which have to do with multiple taxation – will, by the grace of God, be a thing of the past, as they will try everything possible to sponsor bills that will make the condition of the environment suitable for business people at Vanderpuye to be great again.
In a related development, the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) says it has 4,989 polling units for the October 9th local government elections, while eleven (11) political parties are being screened and are to participate in the October 9th Local Government elections organised by Commission.
Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Plangji Daniel Cishak, disclosed this, while briefing newsmen in Jos on Tuesday, at the Commission’s office on the preparation for the elections.
He revealed that, 21,000 adhoc staffs have been employed for the conduct of the elections, and urged journalists to always report accurate information with facts, especially during the October 9th 2024 Local Government elections.
The PLASIEC chairman appealed for the media’s continued support in building, maintaining and improving the quality they mate in the Commission, saying, they are fully prepared for the elections.
