Pastor Adeboye made this declaration during a courtesy visit to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

Describing the killings as “senseless and heart-wrenching,” the revered cleric noted that, the Church is deeply concerned about the persistent loss of innocent lives, and reassured the governor that the RCCG has been fervently interceding for the state, trusting God to intervene and bring lasting peace.

“We are here to encourage you and to let you know that, even in these difficult times, we have not relented in our prayers for Plateau State. We have dedicated a special hour of prayer for the state, believing that a new story will emerge – one of peace, restoration, and hope,” Pastor Adeboye stated, adding that, “There are times when the flesh may fail, but God never fails.”

Pastor Adeboye also informed Governor Mutfwang that he and his team were in the state for their annual retreat at the RCCG Camp, in Heipang, Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area. He said it was important to pay a visit to the governor and offer prayers for the state’s healing and restoration.

In his response, Governor Caleb Mutfwang warmly welcomed Pastor Adeboye and expressed deep appreciation for the RCCG’s consistent support and spiritual intercession on behalf of Plateau State.

The governor noted that the RCCG Camp in Heipang, once deserted due to insecurity, has now resumed activities, signifying a return of hope and resilience. He credited the proactive efforts of security agencies and their strong collaboration with his administration for the improved security situation.

“It is only when men of God lift their voices to heaven that God grants them wisdom and answers the cry of His people,” the governor said.

“We thank you, Sir, for your love for the land and your unwavering commitment to building the body of Christ. We look forward to joining the prayers because we believe that, as we look up to God – our refuge and strength, He will give us divine direction and the wisdom to lead aright.”

Governor Mutfwang also commended Pastor Adeboye for his long-standing concern and intercessory role in the affairs of Plateau State.

  1. Pastor Adeboye’s visit to Plateau State is truly inspiring and timely. His words of hope and reassurance during such a challenging period are a testament to the power of faith and unity. It’s heartening to see religious leaders actively engaging in efforts to bring peace and healing to troubled regions. The dedication of a special hour of prayer for Plateau State shows a deep commitment to spiritual intervention. However, I wonder how these prayers and declarations can translate into tangible actions on the ground. What specific steps can the church and the government take together to ensure lasting peace? It’s encouraging to hear about the improved security situation, but how can this progress be sustained? I believe that faith and action must go hand in hand to create real change. What are your thoughts on this?
