In most laudable successful operations, the Nigerian Army troops have busted terrorist strongholds in Kaduna State and set free 13 kidnapped students and seized a substantial cache of arms and ammunition. The troops also neutralized several insurgents and captured others alive, during the operations.
“Acting on reliable intelligence, troops launched a coordinated attack on September 12, 2024, targeting terrorist camps in Chigbolu Village, Kachia Local Government Area,” the statement averred.
“After an intense firefight, the terrorists fled, abandoning their captives. The troops rescued 13 victims, including 6 males and 7 females, and recovered arms, ammunition, and other items.
“Troops also intercepted two notorious terrorist logistics suppliers, confiscating over ₦1.3 million, SIM cards, mobile phones, and other items.
“Another operation in Suleja, Niger State, resulted in the neutralization of 3 terrorists and the capture of 3 others, leading to the recovery of arms, ammunition, and over ₦4 million,” it added.
“These decisive operations mark a significant victory in the fight against banditry and terrorism, demonstrating the Nigerian Army’s unwavering resolve to restore peace and security nationwide.
“The Chief of Army Staff has commended the troops and urged them to sustain the tempo of the offensives,” it stated.
