A Rights group, known as ‘Eagle Brain Human Right Organization’ (EB-HRO), has advised the public to suspend enrolment for Bachelor Degree Programmes offered by the National Teacher Institute (NTI), pending the conclusion of an ongoing investigation into accreditation and certificate issuance issues.

In a public notice statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna yesterday, the organization said it received a formal complaint from an NTI graduate regarding non-issuance of certificates to graduands since 2015.

Following preliminary inquiries, Eagle Brain said it observed indications that the Bachelor Degree Programmes run by the institution may not have full approval from the relevant accreditation agency, according to a statement signed by leader of EBHRO, Comrade Daniel Ejembi.

The Rights group added that it also discovered concerns suggesting involvement in what it termed as “improper dealings” relating to the programmes. It stated that, as at April 21, 2026, the institution is currently under investigation by the relevant agency.

In the light of the probe, Eagle Brain urged prospective students, parents, guardians and employers to suspend enrolment for any NTI Bachelor Degree Programme until the investigation is concluded and official clearance is issued by the relevant accreditation agency.

It also advised graduates from the programme between 2015 to date, who have not received their certificates, to exercise caution, noting that the institution has not responded to graduates’ requests for documentation.

“This notice is issued in the interest of public protection, transparency, and the right to quality education,” the organization stated.

It promised to update the public once the relevant agency concludes its investigation and provides an official position.

The group provided contact details for complaints, information, or support, but did not name the specific accreditation agency conducting the investigation.

NTI had not issued a response to the allegations at the time of this report.
