Sen. Dr. Simon Mwadkwon

The Senator, who was representing Plateau North Senatorial District, Sen. Dr. Simon Mwadkwon, has expressed concern over the recent killings and property destroyed, saying, “The victims did not do anything to deserve the inhuman treatment.”

He described the incident as very unfortunate situation, an unprovoked attack on the innocent people of Plateau State from his own senatorial district, that is, Plateau North, Barki-Ladi, which was also affected, including parts of Bokkos and Mangu local government areas.

He lamented thus: “These attacks were unprovoked, and no one has done something wrong to warrant another person to come and kill him.” He was speaking in his resident in Jos, on Wednesday, while addressing journalists.

The Senator shoved blame on recent killing of people in the two local government areas of the state as “laxity on the part of security agencies,” adding that “Our pain is, before these attacks, there was intel’s circulated to virtually all the security agencies that had access to information, that, this attack was going to happen and that people were to be killed.

“But, I am sure, very sure, pretty sure that no proactive action was taken; and that is why the attack was able to take place, leading to the loss of several people,” he stressed.

He reiterated that, the attack, which occurred in two local government areas of the state, had claimed more than a hundred lives, with a lot of property worth millions of Naira destroyed.

He added that, “The victims are being hunted; the aggrieved persons are the ones that have been arrested by some of the security agencies – leaving the culprits!”
