The 55 intake training at the Police Training School (PTS) has graduated six hundred and sixteen (616) trained Constables, out of which 504 are male and 112 women Constables.

Speaking during the Passing-Out-Parade, the reviewing officer, Inspector-General IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun was represented by AIG Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka, Commandant Police Staff College Jos on Thursday, reminded the Constables that “Policing is more than a career; it is a calling, it requires courage, integrity, compassion, and steadfast commitment to the principles of fairness and justice.”

“As you take the responsibilities of your noble profession, remember that you are the face of the law. Your actions, your words, and even your silence will shape how the public perceives the Police Force,” he urged.

He further urged them to always act with honor and uphold the trust that the public places in them.

According to him, “In a world that is constantly changing, the challenges of the law enforcement are involving, too,” adding that, they will face complex situations – some of which would test their patience and resolve.

IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun further urged the Constables to know that they are not alone, and charged them to lean on their training, their fellow officers, and the principles of service and humanity that has been installed on them.

He cautioned the Constables, saying, “Remember, strength is not only in physical power but also in wisdom, compassion, and humanity,” and commended the trainers and instructors for their dedication and hard work in molding the young officers.

According to the IGP, the young officers’ efforts have prepared them to face the challenges ahead with confidence and professionalism, adding that as they step into the world of policing, they should remember they are not carrying the weight of law enforcement responsibility on their shoulders, but they also have the opportunity to make a difference to save lives, to uphold the rule of law, ensure protection of human rights and to bring peace to their communities.

He stressed that, let their service be guided by honesty, accountability, dedication to duty, an unwavering sense of duty and service to humanity.

Our correspondent reports that, the passing-out of officers comprised of a total number of six hundred and sixteen (616) Police Recruit Constables that successfully completed their training at the Police Staff College Jos.

The Chairman Police Service Commission, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, DIG (rtd), represented by Hon Justice Paul Galumje (rtd), congratulated the officers and assured them that the Commission, as their employers, would support them in the execution of their duties, and ensure that their career progression is predictable and in accordance with the laws, and wished them well throughout their years of service.

The Commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, during an interview, assured the residents of Plateau State that the Command will make effective use of the additional manpower to promote peace and security in the State.

He expressed confidence in the abilities of the new constables to carry out their duties professionally and with integrity, and congratulated the officers and wished them success in their future endeavors as they serve to protect the communities they are sworn to uphold.

The passing-out-parade was attended by top government officials, heads of security agencies, very Senior Police Officers, other dignitaries, family members, friends and well-wishers of the constables, who gathered to celebrate the milestone achievement.
