The Plateau State Police Command has recorded another ‘breakthrough’ in its war against drug-related crimes – with the arrest of twenty-five (25) suspects and the recovery of cannabis, controlled drugs, and other banned substances.

The arrest was on Saturday, at about 7:55 pm when a joint team, led by the Officer-in-Charge, Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU), in collaboration with personnel from Anglo-Jos Division, Anti-Cybercrime & Narcotic Unit, Monitoring Unit, and Eagle Eye Patrol Team, raided identified drug hotspots at Old Airport Junction and Fwavei Junction, Jos.

A statement containing the information was signed and issued to our Correspondent in Jos by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, in which it indicated that, the operation targeted notorious points where miscreants sell and distribute cannabis, illicit substances, controlled drugs, and other banned substances.

According to the statement, “Twenty-five (25) suspects were arrested at the scene, while exhibits were recovered and are in police custody, while investigation is ongoing.
