Police Cadets of Plateau indigenes have been charged to “imbibe the spirit of hard work and professionalism” when they are fully commissioned as Officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
The State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, gave the advice when 13 of the ASP Cadets, led by Mr Cressantos Ziphion, the Liaising Director Abuja in-charge of Security Agencies, visited him recently at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
He told the cadets to see their enlistment into the Force as an opportunity to serve the nation and make the state proud.
The governor congratulated the cadets for the opportunity they have had to be enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force and to be among the lead core, in that they are being trained to come in automatically as officers.
“The fact that you have reached almost the last point in your training shows that, you are putting your good shift. I would never have expected any Plateau person to come last, and I know that you will be hard working in line with the traditions of the state and, so, as you enter into the last lap of your training, I want to admonish you to adhere to the rules.
“Make sure that you do not give opportunity for anything to push you out at this last point; that will be a big tragedy. Thank you for coming to let us know that you exist and that you pay respect to your state,” Mutfwang stated.
The governor promised to create an enabling environment for all Plateau citizens to attain their full potentials in life, devoid of tribe, creed or political sentiments.
He charged the cadets against corruption and bribery, but to serve the nation and humanity in general; and wished them well as they prepare to write their final examinations in the academy.
Leader of the cadets, Cdt. ASP Lamka Koplama, thanked the governor for granting them the opportunity to meet with him.
He commended the governor for the efforts in tackling the security challenges confronting Plateau State, and promised to contribute their quarter when they are fully commissioned into the Police Force, to make Nigeria a safe haven.
