All the 21 Local Government Council Chairmanship and Councillorship elections held on Saturday, in Adamawa State, were swept by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

While announcing the results in his office, the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Alhaji Mohammad Umar, said the PDP has swept all the chairmanship positions, with only few councillorships left to other opposition parties.

It would be recalled that some strong opposition parties had earlier boycotted the election before the Saturday 13th July polls.

There were 18 political patties registered, 12 earlier to participate but only three parties participated in the state, while others boycotted the poll, which include the opposition parties like APC, PRP, AP ADC, LP, etc., in the 13th July 2024 polls.

Umar said, the PDP has won all the 21 chairmanship seats and 225 councillorship seats in the state and, that, the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) won one councillorship seat in Demsa local government area, adding that, “The commission shall present Certificates Of Return to winners in the July 13th election.”
