Suspected phone snatchers have launched an attack on a young man in Ungwan Boro area of Sabon Tasha, Chikun LGA of Kaduna Town, living him unconscious and bloody with deep head injuries.
The victim’s handset and other valuables were reportedly taken away from him, while he was unconscious as a result of the severity of the attacks and head injuries.
Our correspondent reported that he ran into the victim, who was sitting helplessly by the roadside, behind Philkon International Model School U/Boro, between 4:20pm and 5pm Tuesday evening, in the midsts of crowded sympathizers.
With sign language support, the victim was able to communicate that he was brought to the area by a Good Samaritan and could not even recognize the particular spot where he was attacked.
According to the victim, who spoke in Hausa, he was traveling from Zaria LGA (his working place) to Kachia LGA to see his family, and decided to branch at Ungwan Boro a see his brother, where the attack occurred, while he was trying to locate the house.
The man, who managed to compose himself to speak clearly, said his wife put to bed newly, and he was going to Kachia to see them.
His ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bag containing some items was also stolen from him by the suspected phone-snatcher attackers.
Police were later invited and took him to the hospital in their Pick-up van, with financial aid by some sympathizers for fueling, in company of a man who identified the victim as a relation.
