…Vows: “It’s time to rescue Kaduna.”

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Kaduna State, has resolved to “rescue” the state from what it described as “misgovernance and misplaced priorities” under the APC-led administration of Governor Uba Sani.
This was part of the resolutions reached at the party’s ‘Expanded’ State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the PDP Secretariat in Kaduna.
In a communiqué signed by the State Chairman, Chief Sir Edward Percy Masha, and State Secretary, Hon. Hussaini G. Ahmad, the party reaffirmed its loyalty to the PDP and its commitment to run an issue-based campaign ahead of the February 2027 elections.
Highlight of the meeting was the formal presentation of the party’s 2027 governorship ticket. State Chairman, Masha, presented Hon. Shehu Bawa Usman, popularly known as “ABG,” as the governorship candidate, and Amos Adamu Gandu, (aka “AAG”) as his running mate.
He solicited the cooperation of all party members to ensure their victory, and commended ABG for his commitment to grassroots mobilization “to every nook and cranny of the state.”
The SEC resolved to remain “united and formidable” and to work together to rescue Kaduna State from “misgovernance, lack of focus, and misplaced priorities under the present APC-led government.”
The party also congratulated all its candidates and expressed appreciation to the National Working Committee for “exemplary leadership and successes recorded thus far.”
“The PDP strongly condemned the alleged continued neglect of education in the state, particularly the non-payment of over N800 million in entitlements owed to staff of our State University, Kaduna State University (KASU).”
The party further criticized the poor implementation of budgets by the Senator Uba Sani-led government.
“For example, the well-hyped N100 million per ward initiative has turned out to be a charade, as to date not a single kobo has been assigned to any of the 255 wards in the State,” the communiqué stated.
“The SEC resolved that the PDP will run an ‘issue-based campaign’ in 2027, while not shying away from exposing the decay and failures in our state.”
The party appreciated its state leadership for dedication and service, and vowed to present itself as the credible alternative to Kaduna voters in the coming elections.
