Ultimately, about 15 Local Government Chairmen of the Labour Party (LP), from the three Senatorial Districts of Kaduna State, have declared their support for leadership of the Senator Nenadi Usman as Chairman LP National Caretaker Committee.

 Addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Monday, the 15 party chairmen, led by Kaduna State LP Interim Committee Chairman, Elder Yusuf Solomon Danbaiki, warmly congratulated Sen. Nenadi Usman, and described her appointment as “well-deserved.”

“We, the 15 local government chairmen of the Labour Party, out of the 23 local government areas representing the three senatorial districts of Kaduna State, extend our warmest congratulations to Dist. Sen. Nenadi Usman on her well-deserved appointment as the Chairman of the Labour Party National Caretaker Committee. 

“This appointment comes, following the conclusion of the tenure of the Barr. Julius Abure-led National Working Committee (NWC),” they stated.

In the speech read by Comrade Hosea Jonathan, LP Chairman, Kaura LGA, Sen. Nenadi Usman, is a distinguished figure, who hailed from their State and had served diligently as a one-time Commissioner, Minister and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

They added that, “Sen. Nenadi Usman has made significant contributions to the growth and progress of our state and beyond. Her remarkable efforts during the 2023 general elections in LP have not gone unnoticed.

“With a proven track record of hard work, unwavering commitment, integrity, selfless service, and extensive political experience, we have full confidence that Sen. Nenadi Usman will leverage her skills and expertise to reposition the Labour Party. 

“We anticipate her leadership in organizing inclusive and expansive congresses at all levels – from the ward, local government, state, to the national convention.

“We proudly declare our steadfast support for her appointment, our unwavering loyalty to the Labour Party, and our complete dedication to advancing the party’s mission across all local government areas in Kaduna State.

“We take this opportunity to express our congratulations and appreciation to the outgoing Chairman and the previous national and state executive for their leadership during the 2023 elections and their tenure. 

“We also extend our gratitude to His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, the Executive Governor of Abia State, our esteemed party leader, Mr. Peter Obi, and all party leaders and stakeholders, who converged in Umuahia to rescue our party from crisis by entrusting competent and capable hands, led by Sen. Nenadi Usman, to guide the party towards a brighter future.

“We call upon all party members and leaders in Kaduna State to unite in support of the national caretaker committee under the capable leadership of Sen. Nenadi Usman as they embark on the significant task ahead.”

The State LP party chairman, Danbaiki, while denying claims of crises in the party in an interview, said that the LP State Executive failed to convene Congress to conduct elections at the expiration of their tenure, an action which led to the creation of vacuum and filled by Interim Committee that will organized State Party Congress within the constitutionally stipulated period.
