There is cause for jubilation, as Kaduna State Government, under Governor Uba Sani, has again reversed another unfriendly policy of the immediate past administration of Governor Nasir el-Rufai, following the approval of 19 areas regularization layouts earlier listed for demolition over ‘encroachment.’
Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) made the disclosure in a statement issued Monday and signed by its Assistant Director Public Affairs Unit, Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka.
The statement explained that, the approvals were in line with the Kaduna State Government’s gesture and consideration on the issue of encroached government’s land by individuals, communities and other organizations, which are subject to demolition.
“Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) has viewed that, a total of 19 areas regularization layouts have been approved by the Kaduna State Government.
“KASUPDA noted that, the approvals were in line with the Kaduna State Government’s gesture and consideration on the issue of encroached government’s land by individuals, communities and other organizations, which are subject to demolition but resolved, favoured and approved for the regularization.
“The lists of those areas approved layouts for the regularization are: NITR, Ungwan Rimi (TPO148), NAFDAC, Narayi (TPO1180), Chanchangi, Sabon Tasha (TPO1179), Oil Village, Mahuta (TPO1172), Danbushiya, Millennium City (TPO1173), Sabon Gida, Millennium City (TPO1171), Gidan Daji, Millennium City (TPO1170), Danhonu 1, Millennium City (TPO1209).
“Others are Ungwan Maigero 1, Kamazou (TPO1206), Stello, Sabon Tasha (TPO1198), NITEL, Television (TPO1199), Babban Saura, Kamazou (TPO1202), Chanchangi, Kinkinau (TPO1204), Maigero 2, Kamazou (TPO1263), Buwaya, Gonin-Gora (TPO1210), Gbagyi Villa (TPO1274), Tsohon Kamazou (TPO1271), Kamazou (TPO1272), and Sterling, Mando (TPO1215), respectively.”
KASUPDA maintained that, effected persons in those areas are hereby called upon to respond positively by processing their buildings permissions accordingly.
“While those that commenced the processing but issued with the notifications order for payments or other necessary requirements for the approvals but yet to respond, are hereby advised to comply with the directives.
“Note that, the Authority has employed various measures to make the obtaining of Planning Permission quick and simple within the maximum of 2-3 weeks and consideration of reasonable discount for making it affordable,” it stated.
The Authority stressed that, appropriate action will be taken against those, who neglected the directives as stipulated by the Law accordingly.
Recalled that, the current administration, under Governor Uba Sani, reversed some of the Nasir el-Rufai school fees hike in state-owned tertiary institutions, on assumption of office, in 2023.
