The Management of Kaduna Electric says it has resolved its dispute with the Kaduna State Government over electricity debts and arrears of taxe. 

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the electric company’s public relations department penultimate Monday evening.

“The Management of Kaduna Electric wishes to inform the public that the impasse with the Kaduna State Government over electricity debts and arrears of taxes have been amicably resolved,” it stated. 

The resolution of all issues in dispute was reached after series of meetings involving high-ranking officials of Kaduna Electric and the State Government, according to the release.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, Kaduna Electric is committed to continuing to pay its taxes and other state levies and dues as appropriate. Similarly, the Kaduna State Government has also pledged to settle the electricity bills of its ministries, departments, and agencies as at when due.

“The Managing Director of Kaduna Electric, Umar Abubakar Hashidu, extends his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, the Managing Director of Kaduna State Power Supply Company, Engr. Idris Aminu Idris, the Executive Chairman of Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Jerry Adams, and other government officials for their efforts in finding a solution to the issues in dispute.

“He also appreciates the untiring efforts of the Board Chairman, Alh. Aminu Abubakar Suleiman, and Board Directors of Kaduna Electric for their support in bringing a close to the impasse.

“Kaduna Electric assures the public and its esteemed customers of its unrelenting commitment to finding amicable ways of resolving disputes and providing efficient and reliable services to all its stakeholders. It, therefore, solicits the cooperation of all as it discharges its duty as the foremost utility provider,” the company stated.
