The Minister of God and Regional Head of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Kaduna, Pastor Paul Odu, says, “A good marriage couple is a semblance of evangelist,” adding that, “Marriage not rooted in the words of God cannot stand the test of time.”

He made the disclosures in a sermon at the wedding solemnization of Blessing Ebi Uloko, a daughter of O’dojo of Ado, Kaduna, Chief Vincent Ejeh Uloko, and her heart throb, Andy Adakole Inoo, in Dunamis Church Kaduna, on Saturday.

Pastor Paul reiterated that a couple in marriage founded on the words of God is an evangelist and served as an inspiration for others to get married, adding that good conduct and peaceful married couples are ground for raising Godly children.

“Good marriage is evangelist because of the good conduct and peace between the couple, a ground for raising a godly child,” he said.

According to Pastor Paul Odu, many have lost their jobs and businesses due to “bad marriages.” 

Speaking further on the principles of peace marriage, Pastor Odu said building marriage relationship on God’s words, however, requires love and sacrifice.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, all your labours are in vain. Love is sacrificial. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross of Calvary to redeem the image of mankind to the Father. 

“Every woman wants be assured and reassuring that the husband is still in love with her. Husband is the God-given authority, not subordinate; permanent forgiveness for one another.”

He said what men fear the most is the disrespect from their wives. “Let the safest place be your wife. Safe time with her, spend time showing her love.”

While quoting from the Book of James 1, verse 15, Pastor Paul, however, explained that “Nobody comes to one another’s life perfectly. The two are brought together to get the best of out of themselves by God. 

“Welcome your husband even from the gate of the house not with issues but love. ‘Honey, you are welcome.’ You can correct your wife but not in the open. Marital affection, qualify time together and clear communication and unity of purpose,” he stated.

He also cited an example and implication of marriage without peace, stating that, 67 percent of correctional inmates are from dysfunctional homes.

It was a colourful wedding celebration, held at El Rio Event Centre, Gbagyi Villa, with huge turnout of dignitaries from within and outside Kaduna State.

Prominent among them were the Ochi’Idomoa Kaduna, Mr. Gabriel Ochigbo, Idoma community leaders Ado, Ufiah, Edumoga and other community leaders and relatives of Chief Mr and Mrs Uloko and in-laws Mr and Mrs Ogwuche Inoo. Friends and well-wishers all graced the event.

The wedding service was officiated by creams of Dunamis Church Ministers of God, led by Pastor Paul Odu, Mrs Ekechi Odu, Ministers Emmanuel Yusuf, Omonola Peter Medelub, Onoja Bernard and Yunusa Usman, respectfully.
