A Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Idris Ibrahim, who allegedly rejected bribe offered him by a suspected kidnapper to help truncate investigation, has been rewarded with N1 million by the Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Nasara Rabo. 

Mr. Idris Ibrahim is a serving DPO in Tafa Police Divisional Headquarters in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Rabo, who stated this in a Letter of Recommendation issued on Monday, disclosed that the DPO made an arrest of a kidnapper on 22nd January 2024.

He said the kidnapper attempted to bribe him (DPO) with huge amounts so as to truncate the investigation or distort the process, but was rejected by the Police Officer, who vowed to “allow the law to take its full course” due to his patriotic principle and firm steadfast for justice.

“This singular effort of you has not only made the Nigeria Police Force proud but it had also made proud the good people of Kagarko Local Government Area, the good people of Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large,” he said.

He added that, “This is a testimony that, if we have the calibre of officers like you in service, insecurity and other criminality that bedeviled our society today will become history.

“Under the foregoing, my Council and the Management staff of Kagarko LGA hereby serve you with a formal Letter of Commendation and also present you with a token gift of one million naira as a morale booster to make you put more patriotic efforts in dealing with criminality in the LGA and the country at large,” the chairman added.

The LGA chairman urged all police personnel in the state to always uphold the ethics of the profession by refusing to be compromised in the discharge of their duties.

Hon. Rabo further prayed to Almighty God to continue to encourage Idris Ibrahim to put in his best in the protection of the lives and property of the good people of Nigeria.
