The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Ibrahim Abdullahi, has urged residents of Kaduna State to prioritize their safety and adopt precautionary measures to enhance security, particularly during nighttime.
A statement by the command’s spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, said CP advised residents to verify the identity of visitors, especially at night, before granting them access to their homes.
According to him, the security situation is taking a new dimension, adding, “The Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command Issues Precautionary Measures to members of the Public.”
He emphasized that in the case of police officers or other security personnel, individuals should request official identification to ensure their authenticity before responding.
The Police Commissioner also called on citizens to strengthen community security efforts by engaging their local vigilante groups, highlighting the shared responsibility of safety.
“Security is everybody’s business, not only the police,” it stated. He further encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals, reinforcing the importance of the principle: ‘When you see something, say something.’
“As we go deep into the ‘ember’ months, the CP reassured the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring peace and security across the state.
The CP added that, “For emergencies or to provide vital information, residents are advised to contact the Kaduna State Police Command through the following emergency numbers: 07039675856, 08075391105.”
