…Many have stopped going to office.

Some civil servants working in Kaduna State Government have voiced out that they have stopped going to office – attributing it to lack of money to meet the current hike in transport fares orchestrated by the rising cost of PMS, otherwise known as petrol, by NNPCL.
A situation report on current transportation in Kaduna State and environs compiled Thursday shows that Sabon Tasha to Central Market (Kasuwa), Kaduna main town, now costs N500; Gonin Gora to Kasuwa N500 only, for going through Bus Town Service (BTS).
That of Barnawa, Narayi and Kakuri areas to Kasuwa now cost N400 each, while that of Kawo to Kasuwa is now N300, as that of Maraban Rido to Sabo Tasha escalated to now cost N400 each.
Others are Rigachikun to Kawo – N300; Maraban Jos to Rigachikun – N400; Maraban Jos to Kawo – N600; Zaria to Kawo – N1,600; Kawo to Zaria – N2,700; Jos to Kaduna – N10,000; Kaduna to Abuja – N8,000, respectively.
Earlier, most of the above-listed communities’ inter-transportations were far less than the current price, ranging from N200 to N300, respectively.
Speaking during a local radio phoning program on Friday in Kaduna, many civil servants, who called in to contribute on the vex topic centred on recent increase in petrol pump price, said they had to sit back at home when they could no longer afford paying transportation to their offices.
“Oh, God; please, have mercy on the masses of this country. Deliver us from these Egyptians masquerading as leaders in Nigeria, who are busy stealing the resources of Nigerians leaving them in abject poverty in the midst of God’s bountiful blessings of variety of material and mineral resources,” a Kaduna resident, who compiled the transport situation reported stated, with lamentation.
While some blamed NNPCL, others lambasted the country’s leadership harsh polices under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
