For the first time the Police Staff College Jos is running three professional courses (for the 2026 training cycle) programmes since its establishment has commenced.
The Tactical Leadership and Command Course (TLCC) 24/2026, Operational Leadership and Command Course (OLCC) 12/2026, and Advanced Detective Course (ADC) 80/2026 course is to run for six (6) weeks.
Disclosing this during the inauguration, the College Commandant, AIG Nnaghe Obono Itam, said the programmes were designed to strengthen participants’ professional competence, leadership capacity and investigative skills in response to emerging security challenges.
He explained that TLCC is targeted at Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), OLCC at Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP), while ADC is open to DSPs, ASPs and personnel from other law enforcement and sister security agencies.
He urged participants to approach the training with discipline, commitment and a strong sense of responsibility, noting that the courses would feature participatory and scenario-based learning.
He added that the programmes would also promote operational effectiveness through briefings, debriefings and After-Action Reviews, guided by the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach.
The Commandant appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, and the Force Management Team for their support in enabling the College to conduct the courses.
