The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, on behalf of IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has presented the total sum of Eighty-Seven Million, Three Hundred and Thirty-Four Thousand, Four Hundred and Four Naira, Eighty-Two Kobo (N87,334,404.82) only to thirty-eight (38) families of vibrant Police Officers, who lost their lives, while in active service to the nation.
The Commissioner of Police, while presenting the IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme and Group Life Assurance cheques to the beneficiaries in his office at the Command Headquarters Jos, on Monday, extended the Inspector-General of Police’s condolence to the families.
He stated that the entire Nigeria Police Force shares in their grief and, therefore, advised them on the need to use the amounts issued to them effectively to cater for the needs of their families and children.
The CP also pleaded with the beneficiaries to always pray for the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to find the Almighty’s guidance in their fight against crime and criminality, saying, “even as we strive to keep the nation safe and ensure that the labour of our fallen heroes do not go in vain.”
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the CP expressed profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Plateau State Commissioner of Police for the speed with which the benefits were attended to.
He exclaimed that, “It was an unexpected and laudable development,” and prayed that God Almighty will continue to protect and guide all Police Officers and their families against misfortunes.
