The All Progressives Congress (APC), Kaduna State primaries by-election into the House of Representatives (HoR) has been conducted under a peaceful atmosphere.
Honourable Fidelis Joseph Bagudu was declared winner of the Chikun/Kajuru Federal House of Representatives, Federal Constituency by-election of the APC held on Saturday.

Hon. Fidelis Bagudu, from Kajuru LG, who was declared winner of the election, pulled a total of 98 votes cast to defeat his two opponents in the by-election held at Wusilli Hotel, Sabon Tasha, Chikun LGA of the State.
His two opponents, Comrade Yakubu Waziri and Arch. Sani Abbas, came second and third with 5 and 1 total number of votes cast, respectfully.
Announcing the results, the APC by-election Delegate Appeal Committee Chairman, Hon. Suleiman Abduwasiu, declared Hon. Fidelis Joseph Bagudu winner and returned him elected, having scored the highest number of votes cast.
The by-election commenced at about 2:59 pm, after accreditation of delegates from Chikun/Kajuru LGAs wards on Saturday.
Out of the six people, who were cleared to contest the bye-election, three of them announced their withdrawal, voluntarily, from the race appreciating Governor Uba Sani for his support, before votes commenced with 110 delegates from the two LGA wards.
The chairman also announced that the total number of accredited delegates were 107, with 107 votes cast, 104 valid votes and 3 invalid votes cast.
In an acceptance speech, Hon. Fidelis Bagudu thanked the delegates and said his victory is for all, urging them to come together to enable APC win the general by-election, and promised to deliver on his promises, if emerged victorious as their House Representative. “Kajuru 50, Chikun 60 delegates for APC primary election with Chikun LG, having 12 wards,” he said.
Dignitaries, who witnessed the by-election, include a longest-serving Member of HoR, Hon. Yakubu Barde, INEC officials and other State APC officials.
Recalled that the Labour Party HoR member, who was representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Kaduna State, died in 2024, leaving the seat vacant.
