Former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, has officially declared his intention to contest for Kaduna North Senatorial District, ahead 2027 elections.
In a statement, Yero said he accepted the call to serve, following what he described as “overwhelming support, encouragement, and confidence” expressed by the people of the district.
He disclosed that he received Local Government Chairmen from the senatorial district during a solidarity visit, where they unanimously endorsed his candidacy.
The former governor described the ‘endorsement’ as a strong demonstration of unity, trust, and shared purpose, adding that he accepted the responsibility with sincerity, humility, and commitment to serving the people.
Yero expressed appreciation to the Local Government Chairmen and the people of Kaduna North for the confidence they reposed on him and for urging him to answer a noble Call To Service.
He noted that leadership is a trust, and prayed for divine guidance, wisdom, and strength to serve with justice, fairness, and compassion.
The former governor also commended Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for his leadership and commitment to the progress and unity of the state.
He called on stakeholders, party members, and residents of the senatorial district to remain united, peaceful, and focused on the collective development of their communities.
Yero further pledged to work with the people towards a more prosperous and inclusive future for Kaduna North Senatorial District.
Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, who stood as Deputy for late Governor Ibrahima Yakowa, was sworn-in as Executive Governor of Kaduna State when his predecessor died in a plane crash.
