Future film productions produced by any filmmaker within and outside the Church or Mosque have been charged to greatly promote good morals and family values, in order to globally correct the current high rate of indecency, both in dressing and living and family lifestyle.
This was disclosed recently at the First Annual Conference and CAEAN National Convention organized by Signis Africa Humanitarian Foundation, in conjunction with the Catholic Artists and Entertainers Association of Nigeria (CAEAN) at Capuchin Center Olomi Olounde, in Ibadan.
This was their resolution at the end of their conference at Capuchin Ibadan, signed by Amb. Mrs. Edith Isidahomen, National CAEAN President, and John Black Okeh, National CAEAN Secretary.
They urged all Catholic and Non-Catholic Producers, who make religious films – be it Christian or Islam – to dwell on creating positive stories that will greatly promote and project African cultural values.
“The themes that promote our Catholic faith and doctrines should greatly be our focus and drive in our future programmes and productions.”
According to them, “In their future religious film productions or readable material, they should inculcate in any of them messages that greatly promote intercultural harmony in Africa. Constructive criticism is very necessary in fostering Intercultural Harmony anywhere in the world.
“Catholic and Christian Comedians, who make skits and humour contents should henceforth dwell on humour productions that will not jeopardize our Catholic and other Christian and religious faith.”
They also said, the new CAEAN slogan is ‘CAEAN forever – Art and Entertainment for Christ.’
