A Nigerian soldier, David Itodo, who is battling with a spinal cord injury, has cried out to Nigerians for help.

Already, the family has launched a campaign, entitled, ‘Urgent Appeal, Save Our Brother’ poster with Access Bank account number 0037307698, bearing one Ene Itodo, suspected to be a blood sister to the victim.

Itodo, of Benue State indigene, has been at 44 Referral Hospital Kaduna since December 2020, after he was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury.

Aged 33, David Itodo, who attended Padopas Harmony Secondary School, Makurdi, Benue State, has been reportedly sitting in one spot for the past five years due to the spinal cord injury.

A source, who pleaded anonymity, told journalist that Itodo‘s ordeal started in September 2020, when he had an accident in Abia State, while carrying out his assignment as a Nigerian soldier.

He said, “Itodo has been in 44 Reference Hospital since December 8, 2020. To get better, he needs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), a wheelchair, and financial assistance.

The questions many have consistently asked – without corresponding answers – are whether or not Nigerian Army and government have no resources to sponsor the injury, was the reason for keeping him in 44 Hospital since 2020?

All efforts made to speak to 1 Division Nigeria Army spokesman (1 Div) proved abortive, as he could not response till the time of filing this report.
