A corporate body, ‘The SAMMADECOM Nigeria Limited,’ popularly known as “Dr. Fish Radio,” based in Jos the Plateau State capital, has presented an Award of Excellence to the State’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Musa Ashoms.

Speaking before presenting the award, the General Manager, Machel Ifeoma; the Director, Emmanuel Okezie, and (Dr. Fish) Dr. Samuel Adetunji, said they were in Ashom’s office to inform him of what SAMMADECOM Nigeria Limited is doing and to present him with an award.

According to them, SAMMADECOM Nigeria Limited is a business ventures that produces fish crumbs, omega 3 oil, frozen cat fish, dried fish and fish powder.

SAMMADECOM also has in its fleet a School of Aquaculture and Fisheries, Radio Station, Transportation System and Fish Farming.

They also expressed the company’s goal to collaborate with the State Government so as to promote business growth and development in Plateau State.

Responding, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Musa Ashoms, commended them for its commitment towards driving positive change and promoting national development.

According to him, “This shows that business can work in Plateau and it’s an eye opener for people, who think they cannot do certain businesses on the Plateau,” adding that, “When you say you cannot rear fish on the Plateau, what happened to Europe?; it means, there can’t be fish in Europe!”

While Commending SAMMADECOM Nigeria Limited for their exceptional support to the business and dedication to information management, Mass Communication, and the development of Plateau State, the commissioner added that, the kind of event they have has boosted the state Tourism sector, and the kind of people they bring to the state are going to add value to the state.

The Commissioner also commended Dr. Fish Radio for promoting positive change, and urged Radio Station to continue using its platform to promote peace, unity, and progress in the state.

He also recognized the vital role media organizations like Dr. Fish Radio play in shaping public opinion, promoting social cohesion, and holding leaders accountable.

The Commissioner equally received a briefing from the Afizere Connect on their upcoming Afizere Youth Movement Gala Night “Beauty Pageant 2025” and promised to provide necessary support.
