The Catholic Archdiocese of Jos says it didn not recognize the activities of a group, called the “Paraclate Missionaries” operating a mission and formation house in Bukuru Low-cost Jos, Plateau State.

The Catholic Archbishop of Jos disclosed this in a statement signed by the Archbishop, His Grace Rev Dr. Matthew Ishaya Audu, in which it averred that, “The attention of the College of Consultors of Catholic Archdiocese of Jos was drawn to the purported presence of a congregation, known as Paraclate Missionaries.”

The statement noted that, “The Catholic Archdiocese of Jos dissociates itself from any dealings, commitments or transaction that members of the faithful may enter into with them.”

He advised the faithful to exercise due caution and refrain from participating in/or supporting the activities of this ‘congregation’ until further notice.

According to the statement, the Archdiocese has not received ecclesiastical approval or permission to establish or carry out any apostolic or formation activities within the Archdiocese of Jos.
