The Atiku Volunteer Groups Management Team, which comprises all their support groups of Plateau People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has called for the collaboration of National Members of the National Assembly.
The groups have equally called for the review of the judgment of the National Assembly by the Appeal Court, sitting in Abuja, for removing their members of the PDP who were given the mandate by the people to serve.
They made the call recently after a Peaceful Walk, which started at the State Secretariat Junction, through the Old Airport, down to the PDP Secretariat.
According to the groups, “Nothing is impossible; with God all, things is possible. If things are possible, we want this particular one to be possible.”
They also noted that, “Let it be received back; all those of the National Assembly Members: they should receive the judgment back because people gave them their votes, they won their votes 100 percent and they were installed in those offices.
“So, our own request is, let that mandate be given back, and we went on protest because we are not happy; Plateau people are not happy, most especially PDP family are not happy with what is happening at the judiciary, especially the Appeal Court.”
They also said, “The judgment granted at the Appeal Court is unacceptable by the youths; it’s unacceptable by the Plateau PDP people and unacceptable by a reasonable person because judgments on the Plateau are different from judgments from other states.”
According to them, “Why should the judgment on the Plateau be different?; that is the question. We keep asking and nobody is giving us answer; and we demand an answer because the question must be answered.
“We cannot ask questions and then don’t get answers, and that is why we are not happy. We are pained because what the people gave as their mandate is not what is reflecting.”
They further stated that, “The mandate of the people is stolen – those various offices of the National Assembly; and the enemy went and removed them. They want to remove them from that office, why, because of selfish mind, and we are saying we don’t want the judgment that took place concerning the National Assembly.”
