Incidentally, prices of essential commodities are still on the steady increase, despite #EndBadGvernance protests originally orchestrated by extreme widespread hunger in Nigeria.
Prices of goods such as provisions, grains and other staple food items are miraculously rising steadily in our markets squares and shops across board, particularly in Kaduna, the defunct capital of old Northern Region.
“It was rising before, during and even now, after the hunger protests,” according to a market expert, Mallam Adamu, of Kaduna Central Market.
Our correspondent reported that virtually, cost of most items such as bread, tea provisions, grains, food items or produce have added price even immediately after the protesters of #EndBadGvernance climbed down from protesting podiums.
As but nothing was achieved by the protesters other than provoked anger, and insensitivity to the plight of the common Nigerians, even the price of commonest food such as gari and sweet potatoes are being added and rising.
“They’ve not just added, they are still adding,” said Mrs. Angela Ibrahim and Austin Madugu – all of big time traders (woman and man) in Kaduna market and other shop owners, who chatted with our reporter.
“In fact, gari, rice, akpu, beans, yams and other food items have added and are still adding,” they lamented.
