National President of the Middle-Belt Forum (MBF), Dr. Bitrus Pogu, has called on Middle-Belt youths across the 15 States of the 19 Northern States of Nigeria to work together in unity, saying that only unity can bring development.

Dr Pogu made the call recently in Abuja when he received a delegation of the United Middle-Belt Youths Movement (UMBYM), led by its leader, Capt. Brent Kane, and the Acting National President of Indigenous Ethnic Youth Leaders of Nigeria (IEYLN), Comrade Augustine Gyobe.

According to Pogu, the Middle-Belt has remained behind, in terms of development and growth in Nigeria and “this is because the youths are not united for a common goal.”

He noted that, Middle-Belt is the economic strength and melting hub of Nigeria, adding that the youths of the region must be seen taping into the nation’s economy, while insisting that this could only be done when they are united.

MBF National President happily announced to the delegation that Capt. Brent has been inaugurated as the Youth Leader and has become a NEC member of the MBF.

In remarks during the familiarization visit to the MBF National President, the leaders of the UMBYM, Brent Kane and the Secretary, Prince Inalegwu John, together with the Acting National President of IEYLN, Augustine Gyobe, assured the youths in the region of stronger unity.

They added that they’ve realized that “United, they will stand, instead of division,” saying, this is the reason why they’ve agreed to come together under the ‘United Middle-Belt Youths Movement’ (UMBYM) to forge ahead as a one body.

Recall that leaders of various youth groups in the Middle-Belt gathered in Akwanga some few days ago at the instance of the Acting President of the IEYLN, Comrade Gyobe, and resolved to unite together under the blessings of Chun Mada, HRH. Samson Gamu Yare, for the interest, growth and betterment of the region.
