Plateau State Specialist Hospital has initiated an ‘Electronic Medical Records’ (EMR) Data Collection Center, in order to modernize and streamline healthcare data management.
The center is aimed to digitize patients’ records and enhance data accuracy, security, and accessibility.
The hospital can improve in patient care by reducing paperwork, thereby enabling faster access to medical histories, and minimizing the risk of errors in manual record-keeping with the EMR implementation.
This step also aligns with broader healthcare goals to adopt digital solutions, promoting efficiency in patient management and service delivery across the healthcare sector in Nigeria. The center’s activation represents a significant shift towards digital healthcare in Plateau State, potentially serving as a model for similar facilities across the region.
