…Hearing slated for Dec 9.

The National Assembly House of Representatives (HoR) Committee on Public Petitions has fixed hearing notice on petition against allegedly sabotage of the proposed first Guinness World Boxing Championship fight on the soil of Africa and its economic benefits for Nigeria.

Nigeria’s World Boxing Champion (WBC), worldly known as, Bash Ali, had earlier submitted petition to the HoR public petitions committee requesting for intervention over alleged sabotage against the boxing project, described as “unlimited impunity.”

A statement of hearing date issued by the HoR public petitions committee chairman and addressed to the petitioner, Bash Ali, made available to newsmen, has the Chairman National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, as respondent.

The public hearing of the petition earlier slated for Thursday, 13th day of November, 2025, at 2:00pm, “as the Committee shall deem fit,” has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 9, 2025, because of the National Sports Commission Chairman, Shehu Dikko, who was in Morocco with Supper Eagles for World Cup Qualifiers final leg.

It reads in parts: “The Chairman, National Sports Commission (NSC), (Respondent), 1st floor, Annex ll, New Federal Secretariat Complex, Shehu Shagari Way, Abuja. 

“The National Assembly House of HoR Committee on Public Petitions, petition No.729 OF 2025, Bash Ali boxing project (petitioner). Request for intervention in the first Guinness World records Boxing Championship fight on the soil of Africa/the sabotage of the economic benefits of Nigeria/unlimited impunity.

“And the Chairman National Sports Commission (Respondent), 1st floor, Annex ll, New Federal Secretariat Complex, Shehu Shagari Way, Abuja. Summons/Hearing Notice to: the Chairman Bash Ali Boxing Project (petitioner),” it stated.

It further stated, “Whereas the above-named petition is now pending before this Committee, and the particulars of the petition aforesaid are already within your knowledge; and whereas, the petition has been assigned to be heard by the Committee for determination.”
