Terrorism in whatever guise has, undoubtedly, brought Nigeria – the acclaimed “Giant of Africa,” under its knees. Almost on daily basis, people are being kidnapped or abducted for ransom, injured and/or killed outrightly. 

The sordid incident, however, cut across all zones, irrespective of tribes and religion but most recently more devastating in Plateau, Borno, Benue, Zamfara, Enugu, Kaduna, Adamawa, Kogi States and others.

This orchestrated incident occurred within a sperm of one week when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu jetted out to France to review some policies, according to presidency source, Bayo Anonuga, spokesman of the president.

In addition, a lot of innocent lives have been taken and wasted by the insurgence many described variously as ‘bandits,’ ‘Boko Haram,’ ‘ISWAP’ and also ‘Herdsmen,’ collectively known as terrorists.

In Kaduna, the news of terror attacks reportedly occurred Thursday morning in a community in Kajuru LGA of the state, courtesy of Kaduna State Media Co-operation (KAMC) program, the “Oga Driver.”

Terror attacks, a week before the Kaduna incident, was visited on Plateau State, most especially the striking invasion, which left scores killed in Bokkos and Bassa LGAs of the state, known to be the most peaceful ever.

Simultaneously, similar incident occurred in Otobi Akpa, Otukpo LG and some other LGAs in Benue State, living many also killed and some others kidnapped.

Prior to the Plateau and Benue States’ massacre, the Borno State Government openly decried killing of 8 in the re-insurgence in some communities in the state, and called on federal government to come to their aid over the renewed attacks and killings after visiting some injured victims.

Zamfara and Adamawa States were not spared, as incident of attacks, kidnapping and killings rented the air within the week of terror invasion of communities in the country.

While some security operatives killed over an attack in their operational vehicle, which went in flames in an attack by suspected armed bandits in a check-point, in Southeast in-between Enugu and Anambra States, Kogi and several other states raises alarm of bandits’ attacks and kidnapping.

As helpless citizens of Nigeria awaiting the return of President Tinubu from France in vain, more and more devastating reports of attacks in communities by the terrorists continue to increase by the day.
