As US President Donald Trump’s factor continues to generate reactions across country, Madame Rhoda, a Christian woman from Southern Bauchi, Northeast Nigeria, who was jailed for making a video condemning the lynching of Deborah Samuel Yakubu, has re-echoed.

Deborah Samuel Yakubu, a second-year female Christian college student, was stoned to death by a mob of Muslim students’ classmates in Sokoto, Northwest Nigeria, after being accused of blasphemy against Prophet Mohamed, on 12th May, 2022.
A statement shared by supporters of members of the family, circulating in social media, had it that Madame Rhoda was arrested, tried under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed in Bauchi State, and jailed, but the killers of Deborah were yet to be brought to book till date.
The statement reads: “This is Madame Rhoda, a Christian from Southern Bauchi (Nigeria). She made a video condemning the lynching of Deborah Samuel by her classmates as she was accused of blasphemy in a college in Sokoto State against Prophet Mohamed.
“Till date, none of the killers of Deborah has been brought to justice, but the Government of Bauchi State, under the leadership of Gov Bala Mohamed, arrested this woman.
“She has been tried, convicted and jailed for bl@sphemy, simply because she spoke against the lynching of Deborah.
“Next time, if anyone tells you that Sharia law is only for Muslims, show them this post.
“These are the kinds of individuals, who deserve a presidential pardon from the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, not drug lords,” the statement expressed lamentations.
