Operatives of Kaduna State Police Command has foiled an attempt to kidnap road users by heavily-armed bandits in the state and recovered one AK47 rifle, 3 magazines and other items.
The incident occurred at about 0730 hours on15th February, 2024, when the bandits, in large numbers blocked Tumburku-Galadimawa Road, shooting indiscriminately in an attempt to kidnap motorists, according to a statement by the Police spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan, on Tuesday.
The statement maintained that, the daunting situation drew the attention of the Operatives of the Nigeria Police, which responded to the clarion call to action that resulted in a fierce gun duel, with the bandits succumbing to the Operatives’ superior tactics and retreated into the nearby bush with many in bullet wounds.
“Subsequently, the Police Officers combed and recovered from the scene of the cross fire an AK47 rifle, three AK47 magazines, five rounds of 7.62 x 39mm live ammunitions, a Techno mobile phone and two Bajaj made motorcycles.
“Order has since been restored in the said area, as patrol is being intensified. Members of the public in that axis are equally advised to be on the lookout for any suspicious character nursing gunshot injury and report same to the nearest Police outfit,” it stated.
The Commissioner of Police Kaduna Command, CP A.D. Ali, psc, again therefore stressed that criminal elements will have no breeding ground in the State, as CP stressed that criminals will have no hiding place in the state.
