As part of proactive measures to ensure the security of lives and property on the Plateau during and after the festive season, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police has made additional security deployments within the State to curb the activities of criminal elements who might want to hamper the peace of the State during this period.
The CP has also placed a temporary ban on the activities of commercial tricycles, also known as “Keke-NAPEP,” within Jos-Bukuru metropolis, from 04:00pm on December 31, 2025, to 06:00am on January 2, 2026.
The total ban on the activities of commercial motorcycles within the Jos-Bukuru metropolis still remains in force.
“The Commissioner of Police hereby wishes to state that these bans are put in place to ensure the security of lives and properties during the festive season, and are not intended to infringe on the fundamental rights of any person or group of persons. We, therefore, advise members of the public to be vigilant and avoid places that could make them prone to attack from unscrupulous elements.
“The Commissioner of Police warns that all violators of this ban will be arrested and made to face the full weight of the law.
“The Plateau State Police Command remains resolute in its fight against crime and criminality; hence, we urge all citizens to support and cooperate with the Police and report any suspicious activities within their environment to the nearest Police Station, any nearby security agency.
