JOS: The Plateau State Police Command has taken a strategic step towards restoring confidence in the citizens and ensuring peace and order across the State, by rolling out an “intensive publicity and sensitization drive” aimed at curbing crime and other social vices in Janta-Makeri Community of Jos North Local Government Area.
During the work, the CP, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, and Officers of the Command, approached the initiative with remarkable vigour and passion, distributing flyers and pamphlets to residents and engaging them in direct dialogue.
The Police Campaign Against Crime and Other Vices (POCACOV) is an initiative of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, which aims at eradicating crime, social vices, and other harmful behaviors across the Nation.
The Commissioner of Police enjoined the people of Jenta Community to join in the effort to stem the tide of criminality, emphasizing that partnership between the Police, other law enforcement agencies and the community is essential to root-out crime and moral decay in Plateau State.
He urged them to key into the IGP’s “Catch them Young” policy, so as to position the minds of children against crime and other social vices.
While encouraging the citizens to break the silence and report any suspicious activity, the CP stressed that “Indifference only allows crime and vices to thrive in Jenta Community and its surrounding areas.
“The Plateau State Police Command remains committed to protecting the lives and property of the people of Plateau State. “The Commissioner of Police calls on all well-meaning citizens of Plateau State to join the Police in the fight against crime and criminally; he exhorted everyone to “say something” when they “see something.”
