Following a recent terrorists’ attack on Gudum Village of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has expressed “deep sorrow” over the atrocities committed by suspected herdsmen in the area, where lives were lost, and property valued at millions of naira destroyed.

In a condolence message, signed and issued to newsmen in Jos by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Beer, it noted that, “The governor sympathized with the affected families, denouncing the barbaric and unacceptable nature of the orchestrated attack.” 

According to available information, the assailants set Edward Latu’s house ablaze, trapping women and children inside two rooms – where seven individuals were rescued after the doors had been forced open. “Regrettably, Edward Latu and two others succumbed to brutal gunshot injuries during the incident,” it stressed.

Governor Mutfwang also extended heartfelt condolences to the communities of Maraba Pushit District and Pinper, in Komun District, Mangu Local Government Area, which were similarly attacked on November 29, 2023.

In an expression of his resolve for justice, the State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, directed security agencies to pursue the attackers, emphasizing the need for the culprits to face the full wrath of the law.
