JOS: The Plateau State Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) wishes to categorically dismiss and denounce as false and misleading the recent publication on Daybreak Media, an online news platform, authored by Gabriel Achudu, alleging the arrest of the Commander of Sector 5 located in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, for his alleged involvement in the recent attacks on communities in Bokkos, Barikin-Ladi, and Mangu Local Government Areas.
“The report is not only baseless but is also a deliberate attempt to malign the reputation of our gallant troops and undermine the efforts of Operation SAFE HAVEN, intended to bring those responsible for the reprehensible acts to justice,” OPSH stated.
A statement was signed and issued to newsmen in Jos by Oya James, who is Captain Media Information Officerfor OPSH. He said “Operation SAFE HAVEN, a multi-agency security initiative, has been steadfastly addressing the recurring security challenges on the Plateau and its environs.
“The dedication and commitment of our troops remain unwavering in ensuring the safety and security of the affected communities.
“The OPSH urges the public, individuals, groups, and all stakeholders to support our troops by providing actionable information that will aid in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security to the region.
“We urge the public to disregard the misleading and false information being circulated, as it is designed to serve the selfish interests of its purveyors.
“The OPSH calls on all citizens to desist from spreading inaccurate and misleading stories, particularly those that concern our national security. National security is a collective responsibility, and the efforts of all well-meaning citizens are crucial in enhancing our nation’s security.
“Operation SAFE HAVEN remains resolute in its commitment to upholding the peace and security of our nation, and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that justice is served and tranquility is restored in the affected communities,” OPSH stated.
