Prominent Christian leaders in Northern Nigeria have continued to extend their heartfelt condolences to Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), in Kaduna State, over the death of its Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Kufena.
General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Kaduna, Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, expressed deep sorrow over the news of Alhaji Kufena’s passing.
In a statement released to the press, Pastor Buru said he was shocked to learn of the death through the Chief Imam of JNI Kaduna, Sheikh Ilyasu Husaine.
Pastor Buru described Alhaji Kufena as a committed peace advocate, who dedicated his life to fostering religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
He noted that Kufena’s contributions to interfaith dialogue and unity have had a lasting impact, both locally and internationally.
“This is a great loss, not only to Kaduna State but to the entire nation,” Pastor Buru stated, adding, “He was a true bridge-builder between faith communities.”
He also announced his intention to visit the family to personally offer his condolences and prayers, praying that, “May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
Similarly, Evangelist Rowland Sanda extended his sympathy to the bereaved family, praying for God’s mercy upon the late Alhaji Kufena and for him to be granted paradise.
In the same vein, Pastor George John also paid tribute, describing the late Kufena as a role model in peace-building. “He was among the most respected voices for peace and interfaith harmony in the state,” Pastor John said. He concluded by extending condolences to both the family and the Kaduna State Government.
The late Alhaji Ibrahim Kufena served with distinction at JNI for many years and was widely respected for his unwavering commitment to unity and religious cooperation.
