The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Muhamad Bello Matawalle, has condoled the Government and people of Plateau State, on the attacks of the Christmas Eve, especially those affected communities, and reassured them of Federal Government’s commitment to fighting all forms of criminalities that have bedeviled the communities and nation in general.
According to him, President Bola Tinubu has directed them to visit the government and people and to reassure them that military will restore peace in the affected communities and, that, the perpetrators of the dastardly act will be arrested.
Dr. Matawalle, along with Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betty Edu, led the Federal Government delegation on the visit to commiserate with the government and good people of Plateau State over the sad event that occurred recently in Bokkos, Barkin-Ladi and Mangu Local Government Areas of the State.
It could be recalled that there was an attack on Christmas Eve on some communities in three Local Government Areas of the state, where many lives were lost, many people sustained injuries and property worth millions of naira were destroyed.
The two ministers and the delegation also visited the affected areas of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladin where they held a stakeholders’ meeting with the people of the affected communities.
They earlier paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, where they held fruitful discussions on how to stamp out insecurity from the State.
