An aspirant for the Kaduna State House of Assembly (Basawa Constituency), under the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, Hon. Mukhtar Zubairu, says he will prioritize establishment of scholarship opportunities for outstanding students in Basawa Constituency.
He also promised enabling the constituent brightest young minds to pursue their educational dreams, according to his manifestos made available to our correspondent in Kaduna on yesterday.
Titled, ‘A Voice for the People, a Hand for the Needy’ as his vision, the aspirant said “With heartfelt dedication and a profound sense of responsibility, I, Hon. Mukhtar Zubairu (Sadaukin Hayin-Dogo), stand before you, eager to represent the extraordinary people of Basawa Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly.”
“My vision is rooted in proactive leadership, inclusive governance, and an unwavering commitment to elevating the lives of all our constituents, with a particular focus on our youth, women, and marginalized groups,” he added.
Hon. Mukhtar, (a PhD in progress), listed some of his legislative agenda, amongst other things, including ambitious and transformative, if elected.
He also promised to champion and implement legislation that prioritizes quality education, accessible healthcare, community safety, and sustainable economic development, beneficial to, not just Basawa but all of Kaduna State.
“I will enhance oversight of government ministries and agencies, promoting transparency and ensuring that services are delivered effectively and efficiently; advocate for a fair and equitable allocation of budgetary resources that directly address our pressing local needs, particularly in the areas of rural infrastructure and comprehensive community development,” he stated.
Other areas of his priorities stated are: “Empowerment and human development, launch dynamic empowerment programs specifically designed for our youths and women, providing essential skills training, startup resources, and ongoing business support that paves the way for economic independence.”
Also included are: “Establish scholarship opportunities for outstanding students in Basawa Constituency, enabling our brightest young minds to pursue their educational dreams; organize skill acquisition workshops thatwill foster self-sufficiency and effectively combat unemployment within our community.
“Provision of healthcare Initiatives, commitment to improving access to healthcare services to most vulnerable citizens would remain some of these priorities areas as pledged.
“Initiating free medical outreach programs dedicated to supporting children, the elderly and pregnant women in our community; forming partnerships with NGOs and healthcare professionals to provide essential medications, health screenings, and critical health education.
“Education Support would form part of my unwavering commitment to education, enhancing public schools by providing essential educational materials, upgrading furniture, and introducing effective learning aids.
“Advocating for improved school infrastructure and better teacher welfare through strategic legislative initiatives; promoting initiatives that encourage girl-child education and adult literacy programs, particularly in our rural areas.
He added “Community Engagement and Transparency,” stating that, “l am dedicated to fostering a culture of community engagement by hosting Annual Town Hall Meetings to keep constituents informed, invite their invaluable insights, and collaboratively shape our shared future.
“Establishing a vibrant constituency office for direct and ongoing interaction with the community, creating robust feedback mechanisms through radio programs, social media, and the active participation of ward representatives,” he stressed, saying, “Together, we can elevate Basawa, illuminate the path to a brighter future.”
