The Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), an Agency of the State Government in-charge of lands, has warned the general public against reports of ongoing land sales within the areas known as “NNPC Quarters, Mahuta, Sabon Tasha,” in Kaduna, saying, such transactions do not have the approval of the Kaduna State Government, and no valid land title has been issued or authorized for the said transactions.
KADGIS also highlighted that these actions contravened the agreed milestones under the granted Development Lease Agreement (DLA) and are inconsistent with the provisions of Sections 21 and 22 of the Land Use Act, as well as Sections 28, 29, and 30 of the Nigerian Urban and Regional Planning Act.
In a statement, signed by Director-General of KADGIS, Tuesday, and shared with journalists, therefore, informed the public that “such land transactions do not have the approval of the Kaduna State Government, and no valid land title has been issued or authorized for the said transactions.
“Members of the public are, therefore, strongly advised to refrain from purchasing any land within the said area, unless such land carries a valid Kaduna State Government title issued through KADGIS.
“The public is further notified that any company, group, or individual engaging in the sale or purchase of land within the NNPC Quarters area without the approval of the Kaduna State Government is doing so entirely at their own risk, as no title shall be granted by KADGIS for such transactions.
“KADGIS, therefore, urges the public to exercise due diligence and verify all land transactions through the Service, in order to avoid fraud, disputes, and financial loss.
“For verification or enquiries, members of the public are advised to contact KADGIS through its recognized official communication channels at No. 31 Ali Akilu Road, P.M.B. 2079, Kaduna.
“This notice is issued in the interest of public awareness, transparency, and orderly land administration in Kaduna State,” it stated.
