Final burial ceremony of late Mrs. Theresa Enyigbo-Edeh Idibia, the biology mother of multiple Award-winning investigative journalist, Idibia Gabriel, commenced Monday, 29th December 2025.

Popularly known as “High Chief Idibia,” an international Award-winning journalist mother’s burial ceremony was billed to commence around 8pm with gunshots to kick-start the 3 days’ exciting ceremony in A’oko’Onobi at Ipoya Okpale-Ogege in Edumoga, Okpokwu LGA of Benue State.

The family had seized the opportunity to invite His Excellencies, the Governors of Benue, Kaduna States, the Deputy Governors of Benue and Kaduna States, the Chief of Staff, Saduna State as well as his Editors, colleague journalists and other distinguished personalities.

The ceremony of the 85 years late Mama Onyigbo featured several finial cultural rites, including Ogilinya, cultural dances, masquerades, amongst other interesting cultural displays known with Benue State, the “food basket of the nation.”

Clan heads, district and village heads were also respectively invited to attend and grace the burial ceremony of the Journalist’s mother, who represents our reputable media organization, on behalf of his HRH, the  Ochi’Idoma.

The ceremony, which involved fisting with cow, pigs and almost 9 goats was expected to last for 3 consecutive days of non stopping with Ai’Okonobi and Aujah, Oodo and A’ede Okpale Ogege-Ahaje playing host throughout the period. They are known for being accommodative.

The family also extended hearts filled of excitement and commendations to Kaduna State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, the council chairman and secretary, and the entire state council executive members and members for their supports.

The Journalist called for prayers from kind-hearted spiritual fathers for the success of the ceremony.
