Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has expressed as “displeasure” over a malicious banner, displaying the picture of a distinguished daughter of the State and President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, along with the caption, ‘Faces of Plateau Enemy.’
The banner, which also showed the pictures of other citizens of the state, is widely circulated on social media platforms.
In a press statement, signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Here, and issued to newsmen in Jos on Monday, it says the governor dissociated himself and his administration from the banner and said it does not represent his vision of building a united and prosperous Plateau.
He urged the security agencies to investigate the source of the offensive banner and bring the perpetrators to justice.
He noted that it will not be surprising that those banners are being fabricated by the opposition party in the state to discredit the government and pitch it against the judiciary.
Governor Mutfwang said his administration will not tolerate any act that will undermine the integrity of the judicial system in the country, especially the President of the Court of Appeal.
He described the banner as the “work of mischief makers,” who are trying to create division and disharmony among the peace-loving people of Plateau State. He added that his administration will not accept any narrative that will foster hatred and resentment amongst the people, while reaffirming his respect and confidence in Nigeria’s Judiciary.
